Annabelle: Creation Screening!
What a great night!
On Tuesday, August 8th, we joined forces with Warner Brothers as the Official Screening partner for the latest movie in the CONJURING universe: Annabelle: Creation. The event took place at the AMC Altamonte 18 in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
Fans lined up early in the hot and humid Florida weather to be the first to see the movie, which doesn’t come out until Friday, August 11th. By the time we arrived the line was already starting to wrap around the theater.
About 15 minutes before the doors opened, we passed out a bunch of Haunt goodies.
Prior to the screening (Last Saturday), we drove all around Central Florida, meeting up with different Haunt owners to get coupons and flyers. We were out for about 11 hours! Take a look at all of the Haunt Loot! There were a lot of great Haunts represented. We have to give a HUGE thank you to Mortem Manor who gave us tickets to pass out to the first 50 people in line!
HauntScene Co-Host Melissa had previously stuffed all the bags, and helped pass them out while I let everyone know what HauntScene is all about. There were many people in line who had signed up through the HauntScene link to get into the screening, and there were several people who already followed us! Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to take a picture – but the HauntScene logo was on their pass! How cool was that?
We also had friend of the show Shelby Denham, who assisted us with pulling our cart full of haunt awesomeness!
Our amazing webmaster Jake Newman also attended the screening with us, so we had to get a team photo. He’s the one who redesigned www.HauntScene.com to the awesome website it is now! Not pictured – but also a thank you to my friend Bernard for taking the photos!
When we finally entered the theater, I was able to address the crowd and talk about HauntScene again. One thing I tried not to fanboy too much about was the seats they reserved for the HauntScene crew!
The movie itself was terrifying! I’m loving this pattern of Horror movie sequels being way better than the originals (Annabelle 2 was vastly superior to the first one). Funny enough, one of the young stars of the movie, Lulu Wilson, was also in the much better sequel Ouija: Origin of Evil.
All in all it was great event, and we’re extremely thankful and humbled for the opportunity to get out and connect with fans. Everyone left with something, and I feel like we spread the good word of Haunts. We’re hoping to do more events like this in the future – stay tuned!
Until next time – Spook Easy
