Something Scary This Way Comes at Universal Studios Orlando
Its not quite that time of year where there’s a crisp chill in the air, pumpkin spice flavored everything, and things going bump in the night, but it is certainly time to start keeping an eye out for local haunt decorations! The folks at Universal Studios have already started dusting off their décor and are prepping the park for haunt season little by little.
During the next few weeks, the park will be making its final additions in time for the Halloween Horror Nights employee preview and opening weekend. As of now, lighting has been set in place, stages are being constructed, and there are several props out in preparation for some of this year’s exciting scarezones.
Over in Central Park you may notice that the fan favorite Jack-O-Lanterns have once again popped up amongst the branches of the trees that line the main pathway. They are strung among the entire area, along with strands of hanging jars similar to those used in the Bayou of Blood scarezone last year. According to rumors, this area will house traditional trick-or-treaters from past HHN years. It will definitely feel familiar and bring back those cozy, nostalgic memories for you HHN long-timers.
In Hollywood where last year’s FaceOff scarezone was located there are now giant banners depicting Halloween Horror Night’s historic icons. This all but confirms that the icons WILL be making a return for the 25th anniversary this year; the first time they’ve appeared since 2010. Have your camera ready for selfies!
The New York area has the most notable and biggest array of decorations so far with classic Halloween decorations lining the facades of storefronts and apartments. There are witches, black cats, skeletons, pumpkins, and all things that scream Halloween party! Which, with Jack in charge, we can assume it won’t be like the typical fall fests you’ve ever been to.
There is still a long way to go before the park premieres this year’s event, but with it being an anniversary year the pressure is on to produce a show worth talking about! We will continue to check in at the park over the coming weeks in hopes of catching more glimpses of what’s to come. Its only a matter of time until these zones will come to life with plenty of fog and screams in the air to mark the return of HHN on one of its most exciting years ever!
