If You Haven’t Seen This Year’s Promo For Howl-O-Scream, Stop What You’re Doing and Watch it NOW
Robin Cowie, a UCF film school grad who worked on The Blair Witch Project, has teamed up with HOS to bring some exciting new scare tactics to the annual Halloween event. His creation is called Unearthed: Scarlett’s Revenge and tells the story of Scarlett’s transformation from a young village healer to a practitioner of the dark arts. After learning to wield some pretty powerful magic to avenge her dead husband, Scarlett was hunted and entrapped by the fearful villagers. Buried alive and waiting for centuries, Scarlett has now been unleashed and is ready to join forces with a legion of demons to seek revenge on those who betrayed her.
The promo video can be seen HERE. But fair warning- don’t watch it with the lights off!
Joining Scarlett at Busch Gardens this year, Howl-O-Scream has also brought back some of its most memorable and terrifying houses with new twists-
Zombie Mortuary– A crowd favorite, this house literally takes you through a mortuary that has become overrun with zombies looking for living brains to satisfy their ravenous hunger. The Mourning Room in this house is particularly creepy and one of our favorites!
Deadfall– Enter a Victorian garden and greenhouse plagued with a virus that has left both the human and flora inhabitants thirsty for blood! The aesthetics in this house are stunning, and the playground is as spooky as it gets! Also keep an eye out for overgrown alligators, large insects, and monstrous plants!
Death Water Bayou– Deep in the south, the Voodoo Queen is back to turn innocent wanderers into servants of the night. Those who dare to enter this house must escape before falling prey to her spell!
Zombie Containment Unit 15– This interactive attraction lets guests get up close and personal with live moving targets- ZOMBIES! Guests are provided with “guns” to shoot designated targets on zombie attackers. If the guest hits the target, it will then light up, signaling the zombie to stop moving for a short period of time. This hunting experience is unlike anything else at the event so be sure to make time for it!
Circus of Superstition: The Last Laugh– Ever been afraid of black cats? Walking under ladders? Its all just superstition, right? Be prepared to put your superstitions to the test as you are forced to face them all in this twisted (but playful!) house!
The BASEMENT– Trust us, this isn’t your typical basement. Momma’s Meats has boasted an award-winning recipe for years- one that only the family knows. Get through this house to see what secrets the basement has locked away before ending up as an ingredient in this demented family’s next meal!
Busch Gardens’ attractions will be up and running during Howl-O-Scream, so if this is your first time visiting the park you’ll be able to experience some extra thrills! We suggest purchasing a Fright Feast ticket, which includes a buffet meal, an early showing of Howl-O-Scream’s pop culture show “Fiends”, and an hour of front-of-the-line access to select haunted houses.
Freaky Preview occurs this year on September 25th and 26th, with the rest of the event running from October 1st-31st (Thursday-Saturday and some Sundays). This is a separately ticketed nighttime event and prices will vary based on ticket package you select. For guest information, visit HowlOScream.com or call 1.888.800.5447.
